Hey folks! I haven’t done progress update on the blog in a while so I figured I’d let you all know what’s going on. Currently, I’m working on part 4 of The C Word. Things have not gone smoothly I’m afraid. See, I wrote the story some time in June of this year. Sat on it for a while. I would go back from time to time and tweak things until eventually, I was ready to start drawing the comic. Everything was going fine until I hit a snag at the end of part 3. I realized.... part 4 didn’t make sense. Plus, the joke didn’t fit into the “can’t” pattern that the rest fell into. It could have been its own stand alone story. So I rewrote it. 5 times in fact. The settings, my god! It started off taking place at the Vatican of all places. Then an art museum, a space-x rocket launch (featuring Elon Musk), a Walmart and finally settling on Delilah’s apartment. Yeah I went all over the place trying to make the story and the joke make sense to what was coming up next. I’m not exactly thrilled with this one but it will do. I’ve said this before, I’m a better joke writer than a story teller.
I am, however, pretty happy with the panels so far. I’m really trying to break away from the characters just standing still and talking to each other. Harry comes off extra....er...Harry in this one with the addition of his body language. I hope to finish this comic’s line art by the end of the week. But as Christmas closes in, I have less and less time to work on things. But anyway, here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come.
